Kenton Secondary School Achieves “Outstanding” Feedback from Education Officials.
A Kenton secondary school has been rated Outstanding following an inspection by Ofsted.
St Gregory’s Catholic Science College, in Donnington Road, was visited by a team of inspectors from Ofsted on 26th and 27th March who rated the school as outstanding in all areas.
The report, published on Tuesday 23rd April said “Staff at St Gregory’s are totally committed to promoting the very best outcomes and care for all their pupils.” Inspectors commented that pupils responded well to these high expectations, stating, “Their behaviour is exemplary, and they make exceptional, sustained progress.”
Inspectors noted that the “exceptional GCSE results are the outcome of a wide curriculum, highly effective teaching and careful attention to pupils’ progress”.
The inspection team were very impressed with St Gregory’s Sixth Form provision and stated “Leadership of the sixth form is highly effective. The excellent quality of teaching enables pupils to make outstanding progress. Students are given immense support to reach their full potential”.
Ofsted inspectors found pupils and parents appreciated the strong ethos of care within the school and commented “There is an exceptional culture of safeguarding in the school.” They also noted that the school provides “very wide and varied” opportunities for pupils’ personal development, through a wealth of extra-curricular activities and involvement in their local community.
Headteacher, Andrew Prindiville said, “I am absolutely delighted that the sustained hard work of pupils, parents, governors and staff has been recognised in this Outstanding judgement by Ofsted.
